FOX10 News’ morning show “Studio 10” invited Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP) and the 2016 Environmental Stewardship Award recipients, Honeywell UOP and Cam-Air to the station on June 17, 2016.

The executive director for PEP Mobile, Jennifer Denson, described PEP’s role in the business community and expanded on how important it is to recognize those company’s that proactively take on a ‘sustainability’ role within their business. Not only does it reduce our carbon footprint, but saves the company thousands of dollars that go straight to the operational bottom line.

Cam-Air’s Chris Thompson briefly explained his role in the Merchant Transfer Company–Western Warehouse Lighting Retrofit and how how important it was for the business. The company was able to finance the project over 48 months at 1% and incur a $25,000.00 positive cash flow–all while increasing light levels and eliminating maintenance with a brand new lighting system. The sustainability numbers speak for themselves: by slashing their kwh lighting consumption by 75%, Merchants Transfer Company has become a sustainability leader within the Mobile business community.
